Church Weddings
No microphones needed! The acoustics in churches and chapels are very complimentary to our instruments. If you’d like a fresh alternative to Organ Music, then consider String Music. The Garden Players trio or quartet can provide you with the Traditional music that is mostly used for weddings plus you have the option of selecting something a little more modern, but still with reverence once it is performed on our instruments.
Your guests will be drawn into the church once they hear us play. We will perform short pieces to welcome your guests indoors and to create a lovely ambience. Once the Bride arrives at the church we have a few minutes silence in order to impact on the Bridal Party’s entry.
The Garden Players perform for the Processional, the Signing and the Recessional. Hymns can be accompanied by our players and extra music can be performed for any other part or the ceremony. Nuptial Mass weddings do require a 1.5 hr booking and The Garden Players can perform for the Offertory and Communion.
Setting up:
Musicians will arrive and set up ready to perform 10 - 15 minutes before the bride’s arrival. Most churches and chapels can provide armless chairs for our musicians and they usually sit to the left or right down in front of the Alter. Musicians may need parking depending on parking availability and restrictions on the street. The Garden Players usually introduce themselves to the Priest or Reverend prior the guest’s arrival in order to co-ordinate the wedding proceedings.
